Kaylene Johnson-Sullivan is a long-time Alaskan whose award-winning articles and essays have appeared in Alaska magazine, the Los Angeles Times, the Louisville Review and other publications. She has written several books including Canyons and Ice: The Wilderness Travels of Dick Griffith; and A Tender Distance: Adventures Raising My Sons in Alaska.
Ray Bane kept journals throughout his years in Alaska, first as a school teacher and later as a steward of wilderness in his work for the National Park Service. His journals and photos are the pillars of Our Perfect Wild. The book is a snapshot of Ray and Barbara’s many adventures in the North and a testament of their commitment to the wild places they loved.
